Esta Dissertação de Mestrado tem como objetivo a conceção de uma proposta para um
Centro de Interpretação da Serra da Estrela, localizado nas Penhas da Saúde, Covilhã.
O tema surge com a motivação de intervir na paisagem natural e em aprofundar o
conhecimento da relação entre a natureza e a arquitetura, na procura e na reflexão de
como intervir no lugar. Assim criar uma construção que articule os dois temas, que se
fundam, na procura da identidade do lugar, contexto natural, contexto histórico e o
valor da paisagem, com base nas referências, conceito e intenções na conceção da
proposta. Este projeto tem como finalidade de ter uma proposta arquitetónica, mas
também, permita o debate e abertura de concursos públicos para a implantação de um
projeto desta natureza na região.
Numa primeira instância será abordada a relação entre arquitetura e a natureza, na
procura de compreender como intervir na paisagem natural. Para tal, será apresentada
uma análise do património natural, da cidade da Covilhã e da área protegida do parque
nacional da Serra da Estrela.
No compromisso de desenvolver uma proposta de construção de um Centro
Interpretativo da Serra da Estrela, integrado na paisagem natural. Um
equipamento direcionado para a promoção e conhecimento do património natural do
parque natural da Serra da Estrela. A escolha do lugar da implantação, Piornos, no
coração do parque natural, possibilita a educação e a interpretação, bem como a
contemplação das várias especificidades da paisagem, como a profundidade,
proximidade e os limites da natureza.
Por fim, será apresentada a proposta da construção, que dinamize e promova o
turismo e a economia da Serra da Estrela e da cidade da Covilhã.
This Master's Thesis aims to design a proposal for an Interpretation Center in Serra da Estrela, located in Penhas da Saúde, Covilhã. The theme arises with the motivation to intervene in the natural landscape and to deepen the knowledge of the relationship between nature and architecture, in the search and reflection on how to intervene in the place. Thus, creating a construction that articulates the two themes, which merge, in the search for knowledge of the place, natural and historical context and the value of the landscape, based on the references, concept and intentions of the design of the proposal. The purpose of this project is to have an architectural proposal, but also to allow the debate and opening of public tenders for the implementation of a project of this nature in the region. In the first instance, the relationship between architecture and nature will be addressed, in an attempt to understand how to intervene in the natural landscape. An analysis of the natural heritage, the city of Covilhã and the protected area of the Serra da Estrela national park will be presented. The objective will be to present a proposal for the construction of an Interpretative Center in Serra da Estrela, integrated into the natural landscape. Equipment aimed at promoting and knowing the natural heritage of the Serra da Estrela natural park. The choice of the location for the implantation, Piornos, in the heart of the natural park, allows for an educational and interpretive, as well as the contemplation of the various specificities of the landscape, such as depth, proximity and limits of nature. Finally, the construction proposal will be developed, with the aim of boosting and promoting tourism and the economy of Serra da Estrela and the city of Covilhã.
