Neste trabalho, vão ser analisadas as características da insuficiência cardíaca descompensada que requereu internamento, no momento da vinda à urgência num hospital geral de âmbito regional (Centro Hospitalar Cova da Beira – CHCB). Este trabalho é um estudo transversal restrospetivo, cujo método foi a consulta de processo clínico, e que incidiu sobre população da região da Cova da Beira, Portugal. O grupo estudado foi constituído pelos doentes que tiveram alta do CHCB nos meses de janeiro e fevereiro, julho e agosto de 2014, com diagnóstico de insuficiência cardíaca e que foram admitidos pelo Serviço de Urgência. As conclusões retiradas mostram um carácter sasonal da insuficiência cardíaca descompensada, assim como com a inter-relação estatisticamente significativa de diversos marcadores cardíacos, como a troponina e o BNP, assim como outros achados analíticos.
In this work, we shall study the characteristics of decompensated heart failure, that required a stay at the hospital, at the point of arrival/admission into the Emergency Department from a regional general hospital (Centro Hospitalar da Cova da Beira – CHCB). This work is a retrospective transversal study, whose information was gathered by consulting medical records, and which focused on the population from the region of Cova da Beira, Portugal. The group was formed by the people who were hospitalized in CHCB due to heart failure, in the months of January, February, July and August 2014, and who then were discharged from same hospital, having been admitted by the Emergency Department. Some of the conclusions we arrived at were about the seasonal character of decompensated heart failure, and also the statistically significant relationships found between cardiac markers, like troponin and BNP and yet other analytical findings.
