Abstract(s)
Architecture as we see today is a result of the abstinence of established and specific rules of the beauty. Classic architecture followed these rules and if they we’re not used, the architectural object wouldn’t be considered beautiful. The architect of today applies his personality and his way of seeing the world to his work. But does he apply those concepts in the classical traditional way or does he rethink them? We will also study Le Corbusier’s modernism and his architectural aesthetics and for final, we’ll try to instigate this idea analyzing a few works of two contemporary architects who embrace architecture from a different view. This thesis hopes to link the ancient architectural knowledge to the present day, evaluate if the simplicity of its elements still composes the today architecture, even if without the same precision. Architecture of today: rupture of the known or another way to express the same knowledge?
