Abstract(s)
do cancro, sobretudo do cancro metastático.
Agency (EMA) e U.S.
Miranda do Corvo.
The present report incorporates the three main areas of the Curricular Unit of Internship of the Integrated Master Course in Pharmaceutical Sciences: Investigation (Chapter I), the Hospital Pharmacy (Chapter II) and Community Pharmacy (Chapter III). The first chapter enlightens about the knowledge acquired in relation to the innovative therapy of immune checkpoints inhibitors that are revolutionising cancer treatment, specially metastastized cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the immune checkpoint inhibitors present in the pharmaceutical market, their mechanism of action and mostly about their immune-related adverse events. Being an innovative therapy with such distinct adverse events from those known for other anti-cancerous therapies, makes it important and imperative to try as much as possible to understand the possible reasons for their appearance and the best way to treat them. It was also accomplished an analysis of the principal critical points found in the three guidelines more often used as a work tool in the resolution of the immune-related adverse events. To perform this study, a bibliographic review was accomplished in three scientific databases: PubMed, Scopus and Clarivate Analytics, with the inclusion of articles published in the period between 1st January 2018 and 9th February 2019, being also consulted the Summary of Product Characteristics of each one of the immune checkpoint inhibitors approved by European Medicines Agency (EMA) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) until July 2019. The second chapter reflects the professionalizing experience in Hospital Pharmacy which took place in the Pharmaceutical Services of the Local Health Unit of Castelo Branco and the third chapter is about the Community Pharmacy internship made in Farmácia Antunes, in Miranda do Corvo. In this report there are also present the different works shown in congresses and conferences and that intended to make known new perspectives and approaches about this theme.
