Abstract(s)
versão reduzida e The Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS).
Embora
É, no entanto, necessário
desenvolver mais investigações nesta área de estudo.
Adolescence is considered a phase of many changes at the biopsychosocial level. Understanding the perception that adolescents have of their positive and negative emotions, how they experience satisfaction with life and the relationship between these different constructs are objectives of the work presented here. In this sense, surveys were applied with 261 adolescents between 12 and 18 years old. Surveys were prepared in Portuguese language, with Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) – short version and The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) scales. Analyzes were performed using Mann-Whitney and Spearman Correlation, non-parametric tests, within IBM SPSS Statistics (version 28). The results showed a strong relationship between satisfaction with life and emotions, both positive and negative, the latter in the opposite direction. The relationship of these variables with gender and education cycle were also analyzed. Boys had higher values for life satisfaction and lower values for negative emotions than girls. Regarding secondary education, adolescents in this cycle of education had higher values of negative emotions than adolescents in basic education. Although research in the area at this stage of development is still scarce, the main conclusions of this study are in line with other works and will be able to help the intervention in the area contributing to its effectiveness. However, findings shows that more studies should be developed in this field.
