Abstract(s)
estudados, a par do corpo clínico existente.
Hospital-acquired infections – nosocomial infections – usually come from bacteria, most of which are not exactly pathogenic, but opportunistic, taking advantage of patients with a compromised immune system to colonize, which can result in infections. Fomites are inanimate objects capable of carrying pathogenic microorganisms, which is why, at the hospital level, they are one of the main means of disseminating studied outbreaks, along with the existing clinical staff. There are some materials capable of reducing the adhesion of bacteria because of their surface’s characteristics, so the objective of this work was focused on the development of a project to produce a membrane with this particularity. Starting from an existing protocol in the literature, an industrial production plan was made, through the definition of several parameters necessary for this type of manufacture. The purpose of this membrane is to be coupled to the fomite diaphragm – in this case the stethoscope – reducing the bacterial transport between wards and patients, providing a second line of protection in case the cleaning of the fomite is improper, or even not carried out. The production plan’s main objective is to transform the already published laboratory production into industrial production. For this matter, it will consider the actual legislation since this type of device has a specific regulation. A cost estimate for the implementation of this project will also be presented, so an assessment of the investment required for the project can be made.
