Abstract(s)
Posto isto, preponho-me a estudar a evolução
The chosen theme addresses the architectural typologies used for Euro 2004 but at the same time, trying to clarify where it all began, gradually seeing the evolution over the years. Having said that, I intend to study the evolution of sports architecture, with a special focus on the constructions carried out for the tournament held in Portugal, starting from the typologies used, which one best fits the Portuguese reality. The objective of the second chapter is to understand the evolution of stadiums from their genesis in Greek antiquity to the date of the tournament. Also understand why the changes were made and what they brought new to the stadiums and what regulations exist for the construction of a sports venue with the grandeur that a football stadium means. In a more advanced phase of the work I will highlight three stadiums, namely the Braga Municipal Stadium (Architect Eduardo Souto Moura) and the Dragão Stadium (Architect Manuel Salgado), as they are two examples of typologies used for the construction of new stadiums. Proposing to speak to the people who are responsible for them, thus learning more about the infrastructures, watching football games to understand the differences in experiences of the different types, thus understanding the positive and negative sides of each work.
