Abstract(s)
A temática saúde e bem-estar no trabalho é, sem dúvida, uma questão contemporânea
pertinente. O enfoque que se pretende neste estudo privilegia uma abordagem múltipla sobre
as condições e a organização do trabalho, destacando as experiências vivenciadas pelos
trabalhadores no seu quotidiano e o modo como essas experiências se entrecruzam com
outros esferas do social.
O trabalho é entendido como um elemento central na construção da identidade dos
trabalhadores, e, simultaneamente, como o espaço de interação e de construção social. Dada
a relevância do trabalho tanto na vida pessoal dos indivíduos adultos, como na manutenção da
vida social tal como a conhecemos, acreditamos ser de grande relevância procurar perceber a
relação que existe entre as interações produzidas em contexto laboral (e os aspectos que
configuram essas interacções) e as suas consequências ao nível de saúde e bem-estar dos
trabalhadores, tal como são por eles percebidas.
Pretende-se discutir e investigar em que medida as perceções de saúde e bem-estar dos
trabalhadores são construídas tendo por referência o trabalho. Procura-se, ainda, perceber de
que modo estas perceções estão relacionadas com a estrutura organizacional, categoria
profissional, as condições de trabalho e relações laborais. Partindo da reconhecida
interinfluência entre a esfera laboral e familiar, procura-se, ainda, compreender em que
medida os trabalhadores reconhecem essa relação e os significados que em torno dela
produzem.
A presente investigação apresenta os resultados de um estudo exploratório, realizado com
funcionários (não docentes) da Universidade da Beira Interior. Tendo-se optado por uma
metodologia qualitativa, foram realizadas dezoito entrevistas. A análise das diferentes
dimensões enunciadas resultou na identificação de fatores psicossociais que embora podendo
ser gerados no âmbito da esfera laboral ou no âmbito da esfera familiar, atravessam ambas,
tendo consequências ao nível da saúde e do bem-estar dos trabalhadores.
The subject health and wellbeing at work is undoubtedly a relevant contemporary issue. The approach that we intend in this study highlights a multiple approach on the conditions and the organization of labor, highlighting the experiences experienced by workers in their daily lives and how those same experiences are interwoven with other social spheres. Labor is seen as a central element in the identity of construction workers, and simultaneously as a space for interaction and social construction. Given the importance of labor both in the personal lives of adults and in the maintenance of social life as we know it, we believe it is of great relevance trying to understand the relationship between interactions produced in the employment context (and the aspects that shape these interactions) and its consequences in terms of health and well-being of workers, as they are perceived. It is intended to discuss and investigate the extent to which the perceptions of health and well-being of workers are constructed with reference to labor. It seeks to further understand how these perceptions are related to organizational structure, job category, working conditions and labor relations. Starting from recognized mutual influence between labor and family sphere, it seeks to further understand the extent that workers recognize this relationship and what are the meanings that are produced around it. This research presents the results of an exploratory study conducted with employees (not teachers) at the University of Beira Interior. Having opted for a qualitative methodology, eighteen interviews were coducted. The analysis of the different dimensions listed resulted in the identification of psychosocial factors although they are able to be generated within the labor market or within the family sphere, crossing both, and having consequences on the health and well-being of workers.
