Abstract(s)
A evolução Tecnológica, a Globalização e o fácil e rápido acesso a conteúdos da comunicação, via internet e televisão, no decorrer dos anos, tem vindo a alterar os hábitos e costumes da sociedade. Perante um conjunto de novas necessidades e mentalidades da população, cai em desuso a utilização de alguns equipamentos públicos para diversão, convívio e lazer, como é o caso dos Cine Teatros. Com estas alterações no modo de viver a cidade e a relação com o lugar (construído ou não), muitos dos equipamentos socioculturais, hoje caracterizados como património português, estão ao abandono e em constante degradação.
Os Cine Teatros, caso de estudo nesta dissertação, surgiram como resposta aos interesses sociais e culturais da sociedade do séc. XX que, atualmente deixaram de ter a mesma relevância e uso. Deste modo, é necessário olhar para estes ilustres edifícios, analisar a sua história, memória e funções e adaptá-los a esta nova realidade, propondo Novos Usos em função da relação com a cidade, tentando restruturar a vivência deste património. É importante que a resposta arquitetónica para estes edifícios seja funcional, com espaços multifuncionais e adequados às exigências atuais, respeitando a sua época arquitetónica, para que o reabilitar destes equipamentos mantenha a memória do que foram e que estes possam proporcionar novas vivências para a população atual.
Assim, esta dissertação tem como objetivo a análise/compreensão do surgimento destes equipamentos e suas influências na sociedade e nas cidades. As causas para que tenham deixado de ser utilizados e consequente degradação, assim como estudar os Novos Usos para estes edifícios, de modo a devolvê-los às cidades com novos programas funcionais. Pretende-se ainda, elaborar uma proposta de reabilitação para o Cine Teatro de Alcácer do Sal.
The technological evolution, the globalization and the quick and easy access to communication contents, by internet and television, over the years, changed the habits and customs of society. Faced with a set of new needs and mentalities in population, the use of some public equipment for entertainment, conviviality and leisure, such as Movie Theatres, falls into disuse. With these changes in the way of living the city and the relationship with the place (build or not), many of the socio-cultural equipment, now characterized as Portuguese heritage, are abandoned and degraded. The Movie Theatres, a study case in this dissertation, emerged as a response to the social and cultural interests of the 20th century society that, nowadays, no longer have the same relevance and use. In this way, it’s necessary to look at these illustrious buildings, analyse their history, memories and functions and adapt them to this new reality, proposing New Uses, in function of the relation with the city, trying to restructure the experience of this patrimony. It’s important that architectural response to these kind of buildings can be functional, creating multifunctional spaces and adapted that to the current requirements, respecting their architectural period, in order to that rehabilitation of these equipment keep the memory of what it was and provide new experiences for the population of today. Therefore, the main objective of this dissertation is analyse/understand the emergence of these kind of equipment and the influences in the society and in the cities. The causes for them are no longer used and consequent degradation, as well, study the New Uses for these buildings in order to return them to them cities with new functional programs. It’s also intended to prepare a rehabilitation proposal for the Movie Theatre in Alcácer do Sal.
