O presente trabalho tem como objectivo principal apresentar uma introdução à teoria
de códigos detectores e correctores de erros, dando ˆenfase `a teoria dos códigos lineares e à teoria dos códigos perfeitos. Discute-se ainda uma possível abordagem deste tema em contexto de sala de aula no ensino secundário.
The present work has the principal objective of presenting an introduction to the theory of error detecting and correcting codes, emphasizing the theory of linear codes and the theory of perfect codes. It is also discussed a possible approach to this issue in the secondary schools.
