Este trabalho pretende descrever e analisar um caso clínico, selecionado de entre os vários casos que pude observar com as ortópticas Cátia Cantante e Vera Pereira.
Nesta análise vou abordar os exames realizados na pré-consulta e os exames complementares. No estudo dos exames complementares irei fazer uma breve descrição dos dados relevantes para o diagnóstico e identificação da patologia.
Também será realizada uma abordagem da patologia, do melhor modo de prevenção e ainda de quais os tratamentos que previnem o seu avanço e a deterioração da visão.
Através de uma cuidada análise dos exames do paciente, foi diagnosticado pelo Sr. Professor Eugénio Leite que o paciente tem uma degenerescência macular relacionada com a idade atrófica.
This paper aims to describe and analyze a clinical case selected from within the various cases that I observed with orthoptics Cátia Cantante and Vera Pereira. In this analysis I will address the examinations in pre-consultation, and exams. In the study of laboratory tests I will give a brief description of the data relevant to the diagnosis and identification of pathology. An approach to the pathology prevention will also be made, as well as to the treatments that prevent the advancement of the disease and vision deterioration. Through a careful analysis of the examinations the patient was diagnosed by Professor Eugénio Leite as having an atrophic age-related macular degeneration.
