Abstract(s)
This internship report reflects a professional experience at Guerilla Brand Culture (GBC), a digital marketing company, from October 2nd 2023 to January 19th 2024. The internship took place in Coimbra, where the company’s headquarters are situated. GBC specializes in digital marketing and communication of various small and mediumsized enterprises (SMEs), particularly in its local region. During the internship period, the intern's focus was mainly on developing activities and tasks related to social media marketing. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the field, initial in-depth research was conducted to trace the evolution of marketing concepts up to the present day, covering topics such as marketing 1.0, digital marketing, social media marketing, content marketing and online advertising. Subsequently, the report focuses on its main objectives: presenting the tasks undertaken during the internship and evaluating the intern's contributions to GBC and its clients by analyzing the communication and marketing actions she developed. In evaluating the experience gained, it is worth noting that the internship at GBC met the student's expectations, providing an opportunity to deepen her knowledge of digital marketing and explore new areas of interest. As for suggestions for improvement, it is recommended that GBC continue to invest in its communication, particularly external communication, as digital platforms are currently the primary gateway for business. Among the conclusions presented, the intern highlights the commitment of brands and companies to create content that is both informative and entertaining, the significantly positive impact of the actions developed by the intern on the performance of GBC's clients within their digital ecosystems, and the acquisition of skills that will be a differentiating and distinctive factor as a future professional in the field.
