Abstract(s)
Perante a ocorrência de desastres naturais, sismos, tsunamis, furacões, inundações,
guerras….que país do mundo está preparado para alojar os milhares de vítimas refugiados?
O resultado é sempre o mesmo: uma imensa parte da população vagueia pelas ruas porque
a catástrofe arrasou as casas. Quando isto ocorre, é urgente, como primeira medida, dar
abrigo a quem tenha perdido tudo. Da noite para o dia há que criar acampamentos de
refugiados. Não um simples campo mas o núcleo a partir do qual a nova cidade se erguerá sobre os restos da anterior.
Quanto tempo leva a reconstruir populações inteiras afectadas? Como viver? Como se
reorganizar? Estas são algumas das perguntas a que nos proponho analisar e dar uma
resposta actualizada e eficaz. A arquitectura de emergência é um tema até hoje pouco explorado e desenvolvido, marcando uma grande lacuna no domínio tão vasto desta disciplina.
Através da pesquisa e da visita a um lugar de catástrofe recente, propusemo-nos analisar o tema e encontrar respostas que pudessem alterar a situação que temos hoje. Analisando os problemas económicos, as diferenças culturais e as condições próprias de cada lugar, propusemos um modelo de abrigo com novos matérias e técnicas capazes de responder às necessidades de hoje e de amanhã.
Ao longo deste projecto assinalam-se erros e mostram-se caminhos. Defendem-se conceitos e utopias. Defende-se a causa do mundo, a causa de todos, porque a arquitectura
celebra em si a descoberta mais importante do homem, o outro.
In the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, floods and wars, which country is structured to aid the victims of thousands of refugees? In the case of a tsunami, hurricane or a war occurring the result is always similar; countless number of people wonder recklessly through the streets powerless, face to face with the mass destruction of their homes. When this happens, it’s a priority factor to lodge the homeless. Creating from night to day refugee camps which will serve as a midpoint of the new city and will then rise on the remains of the old one. How long does it take to reconstruct an entire population which is affected by this tragedy? How can they live? How to reorganize everything? These are some of the questions that will be analyzed, answered and reorganized. The emergency architecture has not yet been explored and developed remaining an enormous need in this wide field. Through research and visit to a recent destructed place, the theme was analyzed and were found the answers that could change the current situation. Analyzing the economical problems, the cultural differences and the characteristics of each place it was proposed a shelter model with new materials and technical capable to answers today and tomorrow needs. During this project errors were pointed and paths were showed. Concepts and utopias were defended simultaneously with the worlds cause, everyone’s cause because architecture celebrates in itself the most important man’s find, the other.
