Abstract(s)
Nowadays, organisations have increased the use of work teams to organise their activities, and there has been a growing concern with the emotional aspect of the members of these teams to increase individual well-being levels, which facilitate the achievement of the organisation's objectives. This study aimed to understand the possible predictive effect of emotional regulation strategies on the individual satisfaction of members with the team to which they belong. To this end, a quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted using a sample of 277 team members from Portuguese organisations from different activity sectors. Data were collected using the questionnaire-based survey method, which was subsequently analysed at the individual level, through the calculation of a linear regression model. The results revealed a positive and statistically significant predictor effect of the cognitive reappraisal on work team satisfaction, and a negative and statistically significant predictor effect of the expressive suppression on work team satisfaction. These results corroborate previous studies that demonstrate the relationship between emotional variables and states of well-being and satisfaction.
