Abstract(s)
compreensão do fenómeno do sportswear.
What people wear on their daily life not only reflects their personality, identity, social position and lifestyle but also their day-to-day needs. At a moment when time is one of our most valuable assets, living in a frenetic rhythm became a common behavior because of the countless simultaneous activities people have to do, hence the need of comfort is one of the most important needs to satisfy. The contemporary consumer is more informed, conscious, with access to much more information, what allows him to have expectations about the quality of the products and service. For that reason he not only buys to satisfy one need (or desire) but a combination of both. In that way it is crucial to ally comfort and aesthetics, creating a style that suits different situations and needs. Not carrying only one meaning, the concept sportswear is open to interpretations, the study of this theme, came from the need to contextualize historically and socially this concept, relating it with inner concepts such as Fashion, Consume, Ergonomic and its relationship with materials and textile technology. This dissertation aims at evaluating these pivotal aspects, which are essential to the understanding of the sportswear phenomenon.
