Abstract(s)
Atendendo à necessidade de minimizar a crescente produção de resíduos que se tem verificado
nos últimos anos, tornou-se imprescindível a gestão e tratamento de resíduos orgânicos
biodegradáveis. A compostagem surge então como uma das soluções mais vantajosas, sendo um
método eficaz de valorização de resíduos. Como processo, a compostagem passa por diversas
fases, sendo uma delas o arejamento. Este é parte integrante do presente tema, pois implica o
uso de uma máquina revolvedora de composto para que se realize o revolvimento mecânico das
pilhas de composto. A referida máquina, a revolvedora Grevo será o objeto de estudo da presente
dissertação, que tem como objetivo o seu recondicionamento e modificação, com o menor
investimento possível, para que possa ser utilizada para o revolvimento de lamas de ETAR. Para
tal efeito, foram estudados todos os componentes que integram o sistema hidráulico de forma a
identificar e, por sua vez, colmatar algumas deficiências que o projeto da revolvedora revelava.
Após o procedimento acima referido, seguiu-se a seleção de um motor a combustão para suprir
os requisitos da máquina. O trabalho termina com o dimensionamento das comportas frontais
com a função de juntar o composto orgânico para a pilha de compostagem.
Given the need to minimize the increasing waste production that has occurred in recent years, it has become essential to manage and treat biodegradable organic waste. Composting appears as one of the most advantageous solutions, being an effective method of waste recovery. As a process, composting goes through several phases, aeration, is an integral part of the present theme, since it involves the use of a compost revolving machine to perform the mechanical revolving of the compost piles. The aforementioned revolving machine Grevo, will be the subject of study of this dissertation, whose objective is its reconditioning and modification, with the smallest possible investment, so that it can be used for the sludge treatment of wastewater treatment plants. For that purpose, all the components that integrate the hydraulic system were studied in order to identify and, in the other hand, to amend some deficiencies that the design of the revolving machine revealed. Following the above procedure, the selection of a combustion engine was followed to suppress the requirements of the machine. The work ends with the sizing of the front gates with the function of joining the organic compost to the compost pile.
