1) Proporção de géneros;
2) Distribuição das faixas etárias;
3) Frequência de exames realizados;
INTRODUCTION: The observational internship was held in the ophthalmic Clinic of Antas, oriented by Professor Doctor Manuel Monteiro Pereira. We had as main objective to become familiar with the work in clinical environment, familiarization with the patient in clinical ophthalmology and contact with ophthalmologic procedures. During the internship I followed exams carried out in the 211 patients, where I performed a small statistical analysis subdividing it in: 1) Proportion of genres; 2) Distribuition of age; 3) Frequency of tests performed; 4) Frequency of sugeries In this report I Will address a clinical case for the treatment of keratoconus with INTACs. CLINICAL CASE: A 21 year old patient treated with keratoconus by another ophthalmologist, with Paulo Ferrara bilateral rings. In the OD the Paulo Ferrara rings were improving the AV of the patient, presenting a corneal topography within normal parameteres. Unlike the OE, the pacient didn´t helping. We withdrew the Paulo Ferrara rings and after 2 months the patient was reoperated to place the INTACs rings. With the placing of the INTACs anda id of the contact lenses on the OE the patient recovered a large part of his vision. DISCUSSION: The keratoconus is an eye disease, noninfectious in which the córnea weakens due to structural and composition anomalies. The Keratoconus is a progressive corneal ectatic dystrophy, characterized by thinning and protusion of the central or paracentral cornea, which ultimately assume a conical shape. CONCLUSION: The differenc between the two methods has to do with the fact that the Ferrara rings present a less radius of curvature, that is, they´re smaller than the INTACs.
