A preocupação e sustentabilidade ambiental têm vindo a traduzir-se em metas de eficiência
cada vez mais apertadas. Os IM (Induction Motors - Motores de indução), pela facilidade de
utilização e robustez que lhes são característicos, são as máquinas elétricas mais comuns na
indústria e em aplicações do dia-a-dia, o que implica que sejam os que mais sofrem na imposição
destas metas. Verificadas incapacidades técnicas para atingir os níveis mais eficientes das
mais recentes metas, emergiram no mercado soluções como os LS PMSM (Line-Sart Permanent
Magnets Syncronous Motors - Motores síncronos de ímanes permanentes com arranque direto
à rede), que mesmo sendo SM (Syncronous Motors - Motores síncronos), permitem uma substituição
do IM sem qualquer necessidade de incorporar outros aparelhos no sistema. Assumem
rendimentos semelhantes aos SM convencionais, conhecidos pela sua eficiência.
Estes motores possuem uma SC (Squirrel Cage - Gaiola de Esquilo) na constituição do rotor, o
que torna o comportamento perante uma avaria diferente, em relação aos SM convencionais.
Para aumentar os conhecimentos acerca do assunto, foi iniciado o estudo apresentado neste
documento. Em primeiro lugar será feita a modulação e simulação do LS PMSM saudável e de
seguida irá estudar-se o curto-circuito entre espiras do estator. O grau de avaria será quantificado
com um fator de severidade e servirá também para avaliar e validar o comportamento da
simulação em relação a testes experimentais.
The increasing environmental concern have been pushing the efficiency goals further ahead. IM (Induction Motors), distinguished by their robustness and ease of use, are the most common electrical machines available in industrial and dayly routine applications, which means that they are the ones that suffer the most with the imposition of these goals. Considering the technical disabilities to reach high efficiency, solutions such as the LS PMSM (Line-Started Permanent Magnets Syncronous Motors) emerged on the market. Despite being SM (Syncronous Motors), the LS PMSM allow the replacement of the IM without requiring any additional hardware on system. LS PMSM have similar efficiency levels when compared to to conventional SM, known for their high efficiency. These motors contain a SC (Squirrel Cage) and, consequently, the behavior on faulty operation is not the same as a conventional SM. This document presents a preliminary study to improve the knownledge on this subject. Firstly, the analitycal model of an healthy LS PMSM is modeled and simulated, followed by a study of the LS PMSM with stator inter-turn short-circuit faults,. The fault severity is computed resorting to a severity factor that is also used to compare the behavior of the model simulation and a real LS PMSM.
