Abstract(s)
Uma correta exploração deste documento depreenderá a compreensão da existência de três
partes distintas: A revisão bibliográfica e consequente elaboração da dissertação
“Farmacocinética de Proteínas Terapêuticas em Doenças Neurológicas”, o relatório
desenvolvido como resultado do estágio realizado na Farmácia Portela e, por último, o
relatório de estágio referente às atividades desenvolvidas nos Serviços Farmacêuticos do
Centro Hospitalar de Vila Nova de Gaia.
Com o crescente avanço da medicina, tem-se verificado um aumento gradual da esperança
média de vida. Contudo, este aumento faz-se acompanhar, de modo paralelo, com o
desenvolvimento de patologias, como por exemplo, as demências. Com o intuito de contrariar
as sequelas do envelhecimento, inúmeros estudos têm sido desenvolvidos, com o desígnio de
elucidar os mecanismos patofisiológicos que formam as bases destas doenças, para que, num
passo posterior, se consiga obter novas moléculas que possibilitem uma melhoria sintomática
ou, sendo otimista, a remissão da doença. Estudos realizados pela BIAL - Portela & Cª., S.A.
levaram ao desenvolvimento da opicapona, que no presente momento, se encontra em
Ensaios Clínicos de fase III.
O capítulo 2 regista as atividades desenvolvidas na Farmácia Portela, cuja sede se localiza na
cidade de Vila Nova de Gaia, pertencente ao distrito do Porto. Este estágio foi desenvolvido
sob supervisão da Direção Técnica, a ilustre Dr.ª Graça Camarinha. Foram abordadas todas as
tarefas realizadas, desde a receção de encomendas até à prestação de cuidados
farmacêuticos, descrevendo-se pelo caminho a produção de manipulados, entre outros.
O último capítulo compreende a redação dos eventos decorridos do estágio desenvolvido nos
Serviços Farmacêuticos do Centro Hospitalar de Vila Nova de Gaia. Todas as peculiaridades do
trabalho desenvolvido foram anotadas para, posteriormente, culminar na elaboração de um
documento onde se poderá compreender os meandros do circuito do medicamento no âmbito
hospitalar.
In order to make a correct exploration of this document it would be advantageous to mention the existence of tree distinct parts: A literature review and subsequent elaboration of the dissertation “Pharmacokinetics of Therapeutic Proteins in Neurological Disease”, the report developed as a result of the training held in Portela Pharmacy, and lastly, the report based on the activities undertaken in the Pharmaceutical Services of Vila Nova de Gaia Hospital Center. With the medical advancement, there has been a gradual increase in life expectancy. However, this increase is followed, in parallel, with the development of pathologies such as dementia. In order to counteract the consequences of aging, numerous studies have been developed with the purpose of understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms that form the basis of these diseases, so that, in a later step, it would be possible to obtain new molecules that enable symptomatic improvement and, being optimistic, disease remission. Studies conducted by BIAL - Portela & C ª., SA led to the development of opicapone, which at the present moment is in Phase III Clinical Trials. Chapter 2 records the activities undertaken in Portela Pharmacy, which is located in Vila Nova de Gaia, Oporto district. The training was developed under the supervision of the Technical Director, Dr.ª Graça Camarinha. All tasks where approached, from reception of orders to the provision of pharmaceutical care, describing medicine production, among others. The last chapter comprises the writing of events that occurred during the training developed in Pharmaceutical Services of Vila Nova de Gaia Hospital Center. All peculiarities were noted, for later, culminate in the preparation of a document where it can be understood the intricacies of medicine distribution in hospitals.
