Abstract(s)
A interação entre o design e o artesanato têxtil revela-se uma parceria mutuamente
vantajosa, em que a tradição e a inovação se unem para preservar e ressignificar saberes,
atendendo assim às exigências da contemporaneidade.
A presente dissertação, de cariz teórico-prática, pretende aproximar o design do
artesanato têxtil com o intuito de explorar os benefícios da aliança entre a
contemporaneidade e a tradição de forma sustentável. O principal objetivo consiste,
através da revisão de literatura, analisar a importância da preservação das técnicas
artesanais têxteis, ressignificadas contemporaneamente através da influência e
abordagem proporcionadas pelo design.
Esta dissertação divide-se em duas partes, sendo a primeira composta pelo
enquadramento teórico justificado pela pesquisa bibliográfica apresentada em capítulos,
explorando o conceito, história e influências do artesanato. A segunda parte, de carácter
prático, consiste na elaboração de um projeto, materializado numa coleção cápsula
intitulada “Memento”.
The interaction between design and textile craftmanship proves to be a mutually beneficial partnership, where tradition and innovation come together to preserve and give a new meaning to knowledge, meeting the contemporary demands. This dissertation, of theoretical-practical nature, aims to bring design closer to textile crafts, exploring the benefits of the alliance between contemporaneity and tradition in a sustainable way. The main objective is, through a literature review, analyse the importance of preserving artisanal textile techniques given contemporary meaning through the influence and approach provided by design. This dissertation is divided into two parts, the first being composed of the theoretical framework justified by the bibliographical research presented in chapters, exploring the concept, history and influences of craftsmanship. The second part of a practical nature, consists of developing a project, materialized in a conceptual capsule collection entitled “Memento”.
