Abstract(s)
8 semanas.
This work represents my final report for the completion of the Integrated Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and consists of three essential components: a research project conducted in the field of stock management, the internship report related to the internship carried out in a community pharmacy, and finally, the internship report regarding the internship completed in a hospital pharmacy. The first chapter concerns the research component, with the primary objective of understanding the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic had on stock management in the community pharmacy. To conduct this research, data from the Serrasqueiro Cabral Pharmacy, such as sales and purchase records, were compared between a period considered critical for the pandemic (1st semester of 2022) and a post-pandemic period (1st semester of 2023). The ABC analysis matrix was the analytical tool used for this comparison. The results obtained corroborated the hypothesis that Covid-19 had a significant influence on the pharmacy's acquisition needs, particularly for products considered to have a high economic impact on the pharmacy. Some future research directions include expanding the scope of periods studied and products analyzed. In the second chapter, I present my professional internship experience in community pharmacy, which took place from February 5 to April 26, 2024, at Farmácia Portela in Vila Nova de Gaia. I had the opportunity to engage in all areas inherent to community pharmacy, namely, acquisition and storage, management, dispensing and advising on medications and other health products, and medication compounding. This period allowed me to apply the theoretical skills previously acquired and to develop new practical skills and soft skills. Lastly, the final chapter relates to the hospital pharmacy internship component, which I completed at the Unidade Local de Saúde de Castelo Branco from April 29 to June 21, 2024. With a more observational component, this internship provided me with exposure to a different aspect of the profession and offered me a new perspective on what the work of a pharmacist can be. In this chapter, I discuss the different areas in which I performed duties and describe the activities I developed and participated in over these eight weeks.
