Abstract(s)
This paper aims to provide information on free-form progressive lenses from different manufacturers, making it easier for Optometrists to advice on them. With increasing life expectancy in the XXI century, the number of presbyopes is growing and the good compensation of presbyopia has a greater fundamental importance. The most frequent compensation used are the progressive lenses, it is then necessary for the optometrists to take the position to understand the different options that the presbyopic patients may have, studying these various possibilities and comparing them. It was conducted a population-based study to compare and evaluate the clinical performance of progressive lenses of various brands (Essilor, Prats, Indo) of free-form technology in presbyopes. It was evaluated different parameters such as fitting height, degree of satisfaction, adaptation time and type of use. These parameters were compared with the different brands. The results of this study revealed differences between brands, that can be used to select a type of lens that has a preferred feature that is most important for the patient.
