Abstract(s)
A amostra é composta
3.88; DP = 0.84). Os pais preencheram as versões portuguesas do Coparenting
Questionnaire (CQ) e do Systemic Clinical Outcome and Routine Evaluation (SCORE
funcionamento familiar.
Coparenting and family functioning are important factors, especially in a crucial period such as the preschool age. The present study aims to study the perception of coparenting and family functioning in parents with preschool-age children. The sample is composed of 137 mothers and fathers of children aged between 3 and 5 years (M = 3.88; SD = 0.4). Parents filled the Portuguese versions of the Coparenting Questionnaire (CQ) and the Systemic Clinical Outcome and Routine Evaluation (SCORE 15). Regarding the perception of family functioning (SCORE 15), the results reveal that parents of 3-year-old children perceive more Resources when compared to parents of 5- year-old children and also mothers with higher education have significantly lower scores in Difficulties compared to mothers with lower levels of education. Statistically significant differences were also found in all dimensions and total family functioning, between parents of low/medium-low and medium socioeconomic status. There were significant correlations between the dimensions of coparenting and family functioning, better cooperation between parents was associated with better communication, resources and family functioning in general and higher conflict and higher triangulation associated with worse communication, fewer resources, more difficulties and worse overall family functioning. The implications of the results in the context of coparenting and family functioning are discussed.
