Abstract(s)
a acuidade visual do paciente.
binocular.
The present report, titled "Suspected Glaucoma, RGP Contact Lens Adaptation in a Patient with Keratoconus and Divergence Insufficiency," addresses three clinical cases in the field of optometry. All of these cases were acquired and selected during the internship carried out at Seeana Eyewear, in Aveiro. The first case involves the evaluation of a suspected glaucoma, where various diagnostic methods were explored. Through these procedures, it was possible to identify some indicative signs of a suspected glaucoma. This case also highlighted the importance of the optometrist in the screening process, interpretation, and referral of patients with these other conditions. Regarding the contact lens case, it focuses on the adaptation of RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable) contact lenses in a patient diagnosed with keratoconus. The steps for adapting the best contact lens to optimize the patient's comfort and visual acuity were analyzed. Finally, in the last clinical case, we discuss binocular dysfunction, specifically Divergence Insufficiency (DI). Techniques for evaluating fusion and binocular function were explored, and with the prescription of prisms, ocular misalignment was corrected, and visual acuity improved.
