Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação consiste num projeto de arquitetura. Trata-se da reabilitação do
antigo edifício da tipografia Minerva em Luanda e surge como resposta à necessidade de
repensar o património edificado nesta cidade, produto da expansão portuguesa aquando
das suas explorações. Tendo como ponto de partida uma fundamentação teórica, que
discute, inicialmente, o tema da luz na arquitetura e a arquitetura enquanto processo que
inclui o lúdico, posteriormente, faz-se a contextualização acerca de Luanda antes,
durante e depois da era colonial, finalmente, fala-se acerca da questão urbana, do
abandono e degradação dos edifícios antigos, trazidos num contexto africano e, em
particular, angolano, por arquitetos portugueses. Pode afirmar-se ser objetivo deste
trabalho o levantamento da discussão em torno do património deixado em Angola,
nomeadamente na cidade de Luanda que, de um modo ou de outro, tem sido deixado ao
esquecimento, originando que muitos destes edifícios se encontrem já em estado de
degradação avançada.
This dissertation consists of an architecture project. It is the rehabilitation of the old building of the Minerva typography in Luanda and arises as a response to the need to rethink the built heritage in this city, product of the Portuguese expansion during its explorations. Having as a starting point a theoretical foundation that discusses, initially, the theme of light in architecture and architecture as a process that includes the playful, after the contextualization of Luanda before, during and after the colonial era, finally, we talk about the urban issue, the abandonment and degradation of old buildings, brought in an African context and, in particular, Angolan, by Portuguese architects. The aim of this work is to survey the discuss the heritage left behind in Angola, particularly in the city of Luanda, which, in one way or another, has been left to oblivion, causing many of these buildings are in an advanced state of degradation.
