Abstract(s)
No
do projeto SAP, nomeadamente PS-6 (Preferences Scale – 6), BaSIQS (Basic Scale of
Insomnia and Quality Sleep) e QCM (Questionário Compósito de Matutinidade).
A análise
Circadian preference or morning-eveningness preference differs from individual to individual and can be defined as the subjective preference to perform tasks at specific times. Chronotype, a term associated with circadian preference, refers to the interindividual characteristics associated with circadian rhythms. This study is part of the SAP project "Sleep Ageing Project (SAP) - Study on Sleep and Ageing" and its objectives are to analyze differences between the variables gender, age, educational level and professional status with regard to time preferences for tasks, sleep quality and the morningness index, as well as analyzing the relationship between the Preference Scale (PS-6), the Basic Insomnia and Sleep Quality Scale (BaSIQS) and the Morningness Composite Questionnaire (QCM). During this research, data was analyzed from 157 participants aged between 18 and 70, of whom around 71.5% were women (n=113) and 27.8% men (n=44). Three instruments from the SAP project protocol were used, namely PS-6 (Preferences Scale – 6), BaSIQS (Basic Scale of Insomnia and Quality Sleep) and QCM (Composite Morningness Questionnaire). A Sociodemographic Questionnaire was also used to collect information on age, gender, educational level, professional status, among others. Analysis of the results showed that there are no differences between males and females in terms of time preferences, sleep quality and the morningness index. As age increases, sleep quality worsens. No statistically significant differences were found in relation to educational level and professional status regarding task preferences, sleep quality and the morningness index.
