Abstract(s)
Além disso, a
The theme of this dissertation - (Re)thinking the outdoor museum space in the exploration of the senses - arises from curiosity and a desire to understand the human relationship in the perception of the architectural environment through sensory experience. Considering the concern that museums are still limited and traditional in their design, there is a need to rethink the museum space. In this regard, visits to two museums were conducted on-site, which proved to be essential in shaping the museum space and provided a deeper understanding of the subject, they were: the Chillida-Leku Museum and the Insel Hombroich Museum. To better comprehend, the sensorial architecture and senses of the human being are proposed as a framework, in the context of image perception. Additionally, the approach of architecture as sculpture is present throughout the study, with various practical examples, some of which are incorporated into the museum space. With this focus, the intention is to rethink the museum space, providing a unique sensory experience to visitors in a purposeful exhibition of a museum, located in Penafiel. Architecture, landscape, and the senses intertwine, creating an immersive and transformative atmosphere where each individual is invited to explore, question, and meaningfully connect with the museum environment. This utopian museum seeks to overcome traditional barriers and offer a more immersive experience, stimulating the senses and evoking sensations.
