Abstract(s)
The interest in studies of professional satisfaction of health professionals and their results has increased in recent years, since they are directly related to the quality of the care provided to the users. It is a quantitative study that intends to analyze a comparative study between non-representative samples from Portugal and Brazil concerning the levels of job satisfaction of professionals that work on Primary Health Care. These professionals work at Centro de Saúde da Covilhã, in Castelo Branco, Portugal and at the Unidade Básica de Saúde do Morro Doce, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Data collection in Brazil was carried out in February and March / 2019, while the data collection in Portugal was carried out in March and April / 2019, using the satisfaction questionnaire with the work of Pais Ribeiro (2002) to evaluate the Occupational Satisfaction Scale, with the following sub-dimensions: "Safety with the Future of the Profession", "Support of the Hierarchy", "Recognition by Others of Work Done", "Physical Conditions of Work", "Relation with Colleagues" and the "Satisfaction with the Profession". A total of 90 employees participated in the study, of which 32.2% were technical-level health professionals, 30% were nurses, 10% were physicians, 10% were nursing assistants, 8.9% were administrative staff and 8.9% were professionals from other health areas. The majority were women (76.7%), in the predominant age range "Between 26 and 35 years". By professional groups, when compared to the other categories, the less satisfied are the "Nurses". Overall, all dimensions have observed above-average values. The results obtained in the satisfaction of professionals in Brazil and Portugal reveal that there is a statistically significant difference in most sub-dimensions, among them: "Relation with Colleagues", "Recognition by Others of Work Accomplished", "Safety with Future of Profession" and " Satisfaction with the Profession ", with greater dissatisfaction on the part of the Portuguese professionals. Among the aspects to be improved, it is suggested the improvement of the career planning, as well as, the identification of the opportunities of promotion of the employees and the improvement of the physical conditions of the work environment.
