| dc.description.abstract | Neste trabalho estudou-se o fenómeno da Longevidade Empresarial. Foram apresentados os principais fatores internos e externos que influenciam, em geral, a longevidade das empresas. De seguida, à luz desses fatores, analisou-se um dos maiores exemplos de longevidade empresarial no Distrito de Castelo Branco, a empresa Auto Transportes do Fundão. Concluiu-se que o enfoque continuado no seu core business, o seu conservadorismo financeiro, a natureza familiar da empresa e a sua orientação para longo prazo foram determinantes internos que influenciaram favoravelmente a sua longevidade. Com não menos relevância, destacou-se a influência positiva de alguns fatores externos como o enquadramento legal e regulamentar da atividade, o baixo grau de concorrência no setor e a ausência de ruturas tecnológicas. A alteração drástica na regulamentação da atividade em 2015 que deixou de contribuir positivamente para a longevidade da empresa e a inexistência de uma perspetiva de transferência da empresa para a terceira geração das famílias, são fatores que poderão ditar que a história fascinante desta empresa termine antes de se tornar centenária. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | In this work we studied the Business Longevity phenomenon. The main internal and external factors that, in general, influence the longevity of companies were presented. Then, considering these factors, we analysed one of the greatest examples of business longevity in the District of Castelo Branco, the company Auto Transportes do Fundão. We concluded that the continued focus on its core business, its financial conservatism, the family nature of the company and its long-term orientation were internal determinants that favourably influenced its longevity. With no less relevance, we have emphasized the positive influence of some external factors such as the legal and regulatory framework of the activity, the low degree of competition in the sector and the absence of technological ruptures. The drastic change of the regulatory framework in 2015 that stopped being a positive influence on the longevity of the company and the lack of a prospect of transferring the company to the third generation of the families, are factors that may dictate that the fascinating history of this company ends before it becomes centenary. | eng |
