Abstract(s)
A Inovação Social é um conceito muito recente, o termo "Inovação Social" foi usado pela
primeira vez em 1970 e abordado de modo mais consistente nos últimos anos, sobretudo ao
nível de trabalhos académicos e científicos, encontrando-se claramente numa fase de
desenvolvimento e integração. Todavia, são ainda inexistentes os trabalhos que objetivem
tratar os serviços e medidas de apoio inerentes ao processo de Inovação Social.
A presente dissertação visa identificar e analisar os fatores que condicionam as iniciativas de
Inovação Social prestadas pelos Municípios do distrito de Castelo Branco, nomeadamente no
que concerne aos serviços, programas e medidas de apoio existentes.
De modo a atingir esse propósito, foram selecionados vários conceitos que possibilitaram a
concretização e desenvolvimento do modelo concetual, envolvidos no Processo de Inovação
Social e no Modelo de Implementação da Inovação Social, de forma a verificar a oferta dos
serviços e medidas de apoio à Inovação Social. Espera-se que este seja um importante
contributo para estudos futuros no âmbito da temática da Inovação Social.
Como conclusão da presente dissertação, pode referir-se que os Municípios funcionam como
instrumentos de mudança de mentalidade e estratégia de especialização, bem como
aceleradores da implementação da Inovação Social, no entanto ainda existe um longo
caminho a ser percorrido, dadas as potencialidades e a valorização unanime da Inovação
Social.
Social Innovation is a very recent concept; the term "Social Innovation" was first used in 1970 and has been addressed more consistently in recent years, mainly in terms of academic works and papers, and it is clearly in a phase of development and integration. However, there are still no studies that focus on the services and support measures inherent to the Social Innovation process. This dissertation seeks to identify and analyze the factors that constrain the Social Innovation initiatives implemented by the Municipalities in the district of Castelo Branco, particularly in relation to the services, programmes and support measures provided. To achieve this purpose, there was a selection of several concepts that enabled the concretion and development of the theoretical model, involved in the Process of Social Innovation and in the Implementation of the Social Innovation Model, in order to verify the Social Innovation measures and support services. It is hoped that this research is a significant contribution to future studies under the theme of Social Innovation. As a conclusion of this dissertation, it can be stated that the municipalities act in changing minds, towards the creation of a smart specialisation strategy and as accelerators of the implementation of Social Innovation. Nevertheless, there is still a long way to go, given the potential and the unanimous appreciation of Social Innovation.
