Abstract(s)
Atualmente, os indivíduos estão a despertar para uma mentalidade mais expansiva,
onde a busca por sucesso profissional acontece em conjunto com diversas áreas da vida.
Tal resultado não provém apenas da força de vontade, contudo envolve o
desenvolvimento e gerenciamento de um conjunto de competências. Nessa perspetiva,
instrumentos como o coaching e mentoring auxiliam os indivíduos a desenvolver tais
competências, fornecendo as ferramentas necessárias para que possam alcançar seus
objetivos e obter sucesso profissional.
O presente trabalho teve como objetivos principais: apontar que competências são
desenvolvidas durante os processos de coaching e mentoring; e analisar se o
desenvolvimento destas está relacionado ao alcance do sucesso profissional. Para isso,
foram entrevistados profissionais de coaching e mentoring, e alguns dos seus
respetivos clientes, recorrendo-se a uma análise de conteúdo onde foi valorizada a
perceção dos participantes.
Observou-se que o conjunto de competências desenvolvidas pelos participantes foram
em sua maioria de encontro com as citadas pelos autores do modelo de análise.
Concluiu-se também, que o desenvolvimento de competências durante os processos
envolve um conjunto de circunstâncias, nomeadamente: reformulação de crenças e
valores, busca por qualidade de vida, características específicas de caráter e a percepção
do indivíduo como um todo; às quais os entrevistados tiveram que passar para obter
benefícios em suas carreiras e vidas pessoais. Tal facto, veio a confirmar que o
desenvolvimento de competências pessoais durante os processos mencionados esta
diretamente relacionado com o sucesso alcançado na carreira profissional dos
participantes.
Currently, individuals are waking up to a more expansive mentality, where the search for professional success happens in conjunction with different areas of life. Such a result does not come only from willpower, however it involves the development and management of a set of competencies. In this perspective, instruments such as coaching and mentoring help individuals to develop such competencies, providing the necessary tools for them to achieve their goals and achieve professional success. The present work had as main objectives: to point out what skills are developed during the coaching and mentoring processes; and analyze whether your development is related to achieving professional success. For this, coaching and mentoring professionals and some of their respective clients were interviewed, using a content analysis where the participants' perception was. It was observed that the set of skills developed by the participants were mostly in line with those mentioned by the authors of the analysis model. It was also concluded that the development of skills during the processes involves a set of circumstances, namely: reformulation of beliefs and values, search for quality of life, specific characteristics of character and the perception of the individual as a whole; which respondents had to pass to obtain benefits in their careers and personal lives. This fact came to confirm that the development of personal competencies during the mentioned processes is directly related to the success achieved in the professional career of the participants.
