Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação assenta num pilar principal que é a reabilitação urbana. A proposta para uma residência de estudantes no bairro da Beira-mar em Aveiro, confere um carácter individual ao projecto, que todas as requalificações têm, mas à sua volta reúnem-se uma série de contextos importantes nos quais se exploram as ramificações e repercussões que estes têm sobre a temática principal e vice-versa, e nos quais se pretende encontrar pontos comuns para
a generalidade das reabilitações e suas conclusões.
O projecto parte das necessidades identificadas na cidade, nas restrições impostas pelo cliente e pretende implementar uma nova abordagem conceptual à reabilitação.
A cidade interpreta um papel decisivo em todo o processo. A universidade existente contribui muito para o desenvolvimento da mesma, mas ao mesmo tempo exige preocupações que têm de ser respondidas para a simbiose resultar. Pegando neste pressuposto e adequando o contexto económico do país e local, as requalificações do crescente número de edifícios devolutos ganharam importância estratégica em Aveiro.
Sempre houve uma grande relatividade em definir a importância de um determinado edifício a reabilitar, mas não se deve subestimar o valor patrimonial que a malha urbana oferece no seu conjunto, principalmente numa cidade cadenciadamente carregada com influências de Arte Nova.
This thesis is based on a main pillar that is urban renewal. The proposal for a student residence in the neighborhood of Beira-mar in Aveiro, gives an individual character to the project, like all requalifications, but around it there’s a number of important contextsin which they explore the ramifications and repercussions that these have on the main theme and vice versa, and which is intended to find common ground for most of the restoration and their conclusions. The project begins from the needs identified in the city, in the restrictions imposed by the client and intends to implement a new conceptual approach to rehabilitation. The city plays a decisive role in the whole process. The existing university contributes greatly to its development, but at the same time demands concerns that need to be answered for the symbiosis’s good result. Taking this assumption and adjusting the economic context of the country and place, the requalification of the growing number of vacant buildings has gained strategic importance in Aveiro. There has always been a great relativity to define the importance of a particular building to rehabilitate, but one should not underestimate the value sheet that urban fabric offers as a whole, especially in a city loaded with cadence influences of Art Nouveau.
