Abstract(s)
As subescalas do BERQ
The present study aims to translate the Behavioral Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (BERQ) into European Portuguese and to report its psychometric properties. The sample consisted of 469 Portuguese Higher Education students. A Principal Component Analysis and a Confirmatory Factor Analysis were used to study the factor structure of the BERQ. The BERQ subscales demonstrated high values of internal consistency (? = .72 ~ .91) and the correlations between the subscales were from weak to moderate magnitudes. The original five-dimensional structure (Seeking Distraction, Withdrawal, Actively Approaching, Seeking Social Support, and Ignoring), each with four items, was confirmed. This study shows that the Portuguese version of the BERQ is a psychometrically adequate and reliable measure of behavioral emotional regulation.
