| dc.description.abstract | As situações de injustiça social têm, segundo Iris Young, uma motivação comum e mecanismos de opressão idênticos. O processo de identificação das principais vítimas e agressores, ou daqueles que são beneficiados por um sistema opressor, é assim fundamental para uma desejável universalização dos direitos humanos, em geral, e da igualdade, em particular. Numa perspectiva de género e de lutas feministas, esta igualdade deverá ainda ser instituída com o apoio de uma maior consciencialização e de um debate acerca das estruturas que reproduzem estereótipos e normas sociais discriminatórias. A presente reflexão parte do estudo de dois textos fundamentais da filósofa e cientista política norte-americana, nomeadamente “Five faces of oppresion”, da obra Justice and the politics of difference, e “O gênero como serialidade: pensar as mulheres como um colectivo social”, publicado no oitavo número da Revista Ex Aequo, da Associação Portuguesa de Estudos das Mulheres. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Situations of social injustice have, according to Iris Young, a common motif and similar mechanisms of oppression. Thus, the process of identifying the main victims and aggressors, or those who are benefited by an oppressive system, is fundamental to a desirable universalisation of human rights, in general, and equality, in particular. In terms of gender and feminist fights, this equality still must be established with the support of an increased awareness and the debate about structures that reproduce stereotypes and discriminatory social norms. This reflection is based on the study of two fundamental texts of the American philosopher and political scientist, namely “Five faces of oppression”, published on “Justice and the politics of difference”, and “Gender as seriality: to think women as a social collective” published in the eighth issue of the magazine Ex Aequo, from the Portuguese Association of Women's Studies. | pt_PT |
