Abstract(s)
Farmacêutico no meio hospitalar.
This dissertation was developed within the scope of the Curricular Unit “Internship” of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. It is divided into three chapters, the first of which corresponds to the work developed in the Research area. On the other hand, the second chapter is regarding the internship experience in Hospital Pharmacy and, finally, the third chapter corresponds to the experience in Community Pharmacy. Chapter I describes the work developed within the scope of mobile applications that aim to promote adherence to therapy. The lack of adherence to therapy is one of the main obstacles to obtaining good health results, and several factors may be the origin of this therapeutic failure. Due to the accelerated development of technology, associated with an exponential increase in the use of smartphones, mHealth mobile applications present themselves as an important tool to address the health problems of their users. In this sense, the objective of this study was to analyze and describe how mobile applications can contribute to better adherence to therapy by their users, discussing the positive characteristics presented by them, as well as the aspects in which they may evolve. A search was carried out on the App Store Portugal and Google Play Store platforms, having obtained, after eliminating the duplicates, 2091 results. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria defined for the study, 18 mobile applications were included in the study, this number was drastically reduced, and 18 mobile applications were included in the study, which was later analyzed in detail according to the MARS and MedAd-AppQs scales. The observed results reveal a trend toward the use of reminders as the predominant strategy to promote correct adherence to therapy. Moreover, there are several aspects, from data collection to the strategies used, in which applications can evolve to become a more effective tool in promoting adherence to therapy. Chapter II describes my experience during my internship in Hospital Pharmacy, an internship held at Centro Hospitalar e Universitári0 da Cova da Beira between September 13 and October 28, 2021, under the guidance of Dr. Maria Olímpia Fonseca. This was an experience that allowed me to know the different areas of intervention of the Pharmacist in the hospital environment. At the same time, it was an experience that allowed me to develop technical-scientific skills acquired over the five years of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Chapter III describes my experience during the internship in Community Pharmacy, an internship that was carried out at Farmácia Guardiano, in the city of Marinha Grande, between November 1, 2021, and February 4, 2022, under the guidance of Dr. Angela Pereira. This internship period allowed contact with the numerous activities developed by the pharmacist in a community pharmacy, allowing the learning of different concepts, as well as the consolidation of some already acquired. Furthermore, this was an experience that allowed me to develop my autonomy in the context of interaction between pharmacists and patients.
