A presente dissertação visa procurar a existência de caraterísticas do arquétipo de banco público português e, para tal, será feita uma pesquisa para contextualizar o arquétipo no design, as abordagens e formas de o projetar, a relação do arquétipo no design com a produção anónima e a importância dos designers aceitarem algumas formas como corretas e familiares e, com isso, projetarem produtos com uma inerente nostalgia.
Nesta dissertação, pretende-se dar a conhecer o banco público. Este, irá ser apresentado com o auxílio de uma pesquisa aprofundada do mobiliário urbano e dos vários bancos que nele surgiram ao longo dos tempos, assim como o contexto do surgimento do banco como elemento constituinte da cidade para, desse modo, entender a sua influência e importância na vida social dos cidadãos.
Serão, por fim, relacionados os bancos públicos mais comuns, com o objetivo de encontrar o arquétipo do banco público e, dessa forma, entender de que modo este surge no mobiliário urbano e quais as características que o constituem, como forma de encontrar o banco arquetípico ou com as caraterísticas arquetípicas em Portugal.
This dissertation aims to search for the existence of characteristics of the Portuguese public bench archetype. For this purpose, a research will be done to contextualize the archetype in design, approaches and ways of designing it, the relationship of the archetype in design with anonymous production and the importance of designers accept some ways as correct and familiar and thereby design products with an inherent nostalgia. In this dissertation, we intend to make known the public bank. This will be presented with the help of an in-depth survey of street furniture and the various benches that have sprung up over time, as well as the context of the emergence of the bank as a constituent element of the city in order to understand its influence and importance. in the social life of citizens.
