Abstract(s)
ambiente e as tradições locais.
O segundo instante é a proposta
The present master's thesis focuses on the study for the “Peace Pavilion” project in the city of Sedhiou, Senegal, to be a multifunctional place, where it will be possible to promote permanent and temporary exhibitions of artists who share the values of peace and memory, but also a place where it is possible to go through and know the history through photographs and documentation. Knowledge and sharing are essential elements to transform the pavilion into a place of awareness. It is proposed to idealize an architecture that commemorates countless lives lost in the continent's wars and that materializes the meaning of peace, respecting the environment and local traditions. Its objective is the project to create a pavilion to promote universal peace that induces contemplation, reflection, and prayer for those who have lost their lives unjustly. Therefore, using a methodology that supports two moments: a framework and a practical case study. In the first, a study is carried out on African vernacular architecture and the area of intervention. The second moment is a proposal for symbolic construction as threats and community, to which a design project is proposed.
