Abstract(s)
As we live in a postmodern and increasingly globalized society, there is a sense of urgency in the fashion industry to produce new products so they can sound new all the time. At the same time, however, the need to create and live in a more sustainable way must be taken into account, which means that the industry must also make use of other resources and technologies, such as nanotechnology, in order to better approach the combination of the novelty factor without the excessive degradation of available material resources. Nanotechnology is able to ally itself with the fashion industry is in the development of functional fabrics or knits, as for example in the application of solutions that give photocatalytic properties to the materials. The objective of this work is the study, development and creation of a wool garment with photocatalytic properties and, from laboratory tests, to make analyzes of the efficacy of titanium dioxide as the nanoparticle used to give this property and assess their viability for trade and consumption of the population.
