| dc.description.abstract | As interações entre fármacos e nutrientes podem resultar em alterações nas propriedades farmacocinéticas ou farmacodinâmicas dos primeiros, causando mudanças significativas na sua atividade, seja no sentido do aumento, diminuição ou até modificação da natureza dos seus efeitos. Estas interações ocorrem geralmente por falta de conhecimento dos fármacos e alimentos que podem ou não ser ingeridos concomitantemente. Embora algumas destas interações possam ser vantajosas, a maioria delas resulta em eventos adversos. Portanto, é aconselhável que os doentes sigam as instruções do médico para obter o máximo de benefícios com o mínimo de interações e que os médicos estejam cientes delas e conhecedores das mais importantes. Em contraste com o fácil acesso a informações sobre interações entre medicamentos, informações sobre interações nutriente-fármaco nem sempre estão disponíveis de uma forma conveniente. Com esta monografia pretende-se reunir as informações de maior importância prática relativas a este tópico e ajudar os profissionais de saúde, especialmente médicos e farmacêuticos, a tornarem-se mais informados sobre as interações medicamentosas e alimentares. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | Interactions between drugs and nutrients can result in changes in the pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic properties of the drugs, causing significant changes in their performance, whether in terms of increasing, decreasing or even modifying the nature of their effects. These interactions usually occur due to lack of knowledge of drugs and nutrients that can or cannot be ingested concomitantly. While some of these interactions can be favorable, most of them result in adverse events. Therefore, it is prudent that patients follow the physician's instructions to obtain maximum benefits with minimal interactions and that physicians are conscious of them and aware of the most important ones. In contrast to easy access to information about drugs interactions, information about nutrient-drug interactions is not always available in a convenient way. This monography intends to gather the most practical information related to this topic and help health professionals, especially physicians and pharmacists, to become more informed about drug and nutrient interactions. | eng |
