| dc.description.abstract | Neste trabalho e relativamente ao período entre Junho de 2002 e Março de 2009 analisou-se o nível de utilização de instrumentos derivados por parte de uma amostra de fundos de investimento das categorias de acções, obrigações de taxa variável e poupança acções. Procuraram-se também averiguar as diferenças ao nível da distribuição das rendibilidades e no desempenho entre utilizadores e não utilizadores de derivados. À semelhança da maioria dos estudos a nível internacional não se detectaram, em regra, diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre a performance de utilizadores e não utilizadores. Também não se conseguiu identificar nenhum impacto relevante na distribuição das rendibilidades derivado da utilização de derivados como técnica de gestão dos fundos. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | Our research, concerning the period between June, 2002 and March, 2009, analyzed the level of derivatives usage in a sample of mutual funds belonging to the equity, floating rate and equity saving plans categories. We have tried to identify differences between the return distributions and performance among derivative users and non-users. Consistent with the majority of international studies, in general, we did not detect statistically significant differences between the performance of derivative users and nonusers. Similarly, we did not find any relevant impact in the return distributions resulting from the use of derivatives as a fund management technique. | |
