Abstract(s)
Com o desenvolvimento e crescimento da sociedade aumentaram os casos de exposição aos
riscos naturais. Assim, a prevenção e avaliação dos riscos tornou-se uma preocupação
globalizada, sendo cada vez mais importante conhecer as suas causas, influências,
consequências e efeitos na sociedade. Graças aos estudos de prevenção, é possível
determinar quais as consequências das catástrofes naturais, nomeadamente o número de
vítimas, perda de território, recursos e danos ambientais.
Esta prevenção incide principalmente num melhor ordenamento e planeamento do território,
bem como um plano de emergência de proteção civil mais eficiente, que consiga dar resposta
perante uma maior diversidade de riscos.
Devido ao aumento do número de ocorrências de erosão costeira torna-se fulcral conhecer as
suas causas, os seus condicionantes e factores que intervêm na evolução da linha de costa
Portuguesa.
O crescimento de áreas industriais junto à linha de costa, o crescimento populacional, as
atividades antrópicas nas bacias hidrográficas, onde merece especial destaque o aumento da
construção de barragens, as obras de Engenharia Costeira, o aumento do nível médio das
águas do mar e as extrações de inertes, são algumas das principais causas que influenciam a
linha de costa Portuguesa.
Após análise das causas e consequências da erosão costeira em Portugal, são apresentadas as
respectivas mitigações de riscos, estudos e desenvolvimentos futuros para o combate deste
tema tão em foco nos dias de hoje.
With the development and society’s prowth, increased cases of exposure to natural hazards. Therefore, prevention and risk assessment become a global concern and it’s extremely important to understand its causes, influences, consequences and effects on society. Thanks to the prevention studies, it is possible to determine natural disasters consequences, including the number of casualties, territory’s loss, resources and environmental damage. This prevention mainly focuses on better planning and land use planning as well as an emergency plan for more efficient civil protection, which can respond to a higher diversity of risks. Due to the increase in the number of occurrences of coastal erosion becomes crucial to know their causes, their constraints and factores involved in the evolution of the Portuguese coastline. Thus, it is possible to predict and minimize the consequences, also becoming possible to quantify and map the risk as interventions. The growth of industrial areas along the coastline, population growth, human activities in the watershed, which deserves special mention the increase of dam construction, the constructions on Coastal line, the increase in the average level of the sea and extraction of aggregates, are some of the issues that influence Portuguese coast line. After analyzing the causes and consequences of coastal erosion in Portugal, are presented their risks mitigation, future developments and studies able to combat this issue so much in focus on nowadays.
