Abstract(s)
The objective of this report with the title "Adaptation of Scleral Contact Lenses in a Keratocone, Convergence Insufficiency, Suspicion of Coriorectinitis by Toxoplasmosis" was the culmination of 6 months of curricular internship that took place at Ótica Pita, Lda in Setúbal for the realization of the Master in Optometry and Vision Sciences of the University of Beira Interior. This internship allowed me to acquire several professional skills and develop knowledge for my future in Optometry. The report is divided into three clinical cases. In the first case is explored a case of keratoconus, a very common corneal disorder where there is a protrusion of corneal tissue in the form of a cone, characterized by an irregular astigmatism and a low visual acuity in more advanced cases, which can be treated in various ways, as in this case the treatment used was the adaptation of scleral contact lenses. The second case treats a binocular anomaly characterized by a high near exophoria and sharp near vision complaints, the Convergence Insufficiency, where the treatment is explored via Visual Therapy and the results obtained from it. The third case treats a pathology of the ocular fundus, a suspicion of coriorectinitis by toxoplasmosis acquired in vitro, with a brief introduction of its characteristics and its referral to an ophthalmologist.
