Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação aborda os temas da habitação temporåria e dos espaços de
produção artĂstica, incidindo particularmente sobre o problema da relação tempo-espaço
num contexto simultaneamente de habitação e de produção artĂstica.
Partindo desta problemåtica, esta dissertação desenvolve um problema de projeto
utilizando o contexto da reabilitação de um edifĂcio no centro histĂłrico de Viana do
Castelo, como um meio para a desenvolver e investigar, através do projeto de arquitetura,
criando mais-valia para um patrimĂłnio edificado real.
Neste processo, tem-se como base uma preexistĂȘncia, da qual se tira proveito das suas
potencialidades em função das necessidades do novo programa, numa constante
adaptação entre ambos. Para isso, Ă© interpretada a residĂȘncia artĂstica do ponto de vista
funcional e da conceção dos espaços, assim como, é descrito e analisado o contexto da
preexistĂȘncia, com a finalidade de elaborar uma proposta baseada na temĂĄtica inerente
a este trabalho.
Assim, este projeto procura conciliar o tema da habitação e os espaços de produção
artĂstica, num ambiente versĂĄtil, e de continuidade entre as vĂĄrias partes que o
compĂ”em, criando um elo de ligação com a preexistĂȘncia e as suas condicionantes. Nesta
ligação Ă© atribuĂda uma nova função ao edifĂcio, diferente das anteriores, na ambição de
valorizar o patrimĂłnio edificado atravĂ©s de um programa de Ăndole cultural, no Centro
HistĂłrico de Viana do Castelo.
This dissertation addresses the themes of temporary housing and spaces of artistic production, focusing particularly on the problem of the time-space relationship in a context of both housing and artistic production. Starting from this problematic, this dissertation develops a project problem using the context of the rehabilitation of a building in the historical center of Viana do Castelo, to develop and investigate it, through the architectural project, creating added value for a real built heritage. In this process, a pre-existence is taken as a base, from which its potentialities are taken advantage according to the needs of the new program, in a constant adaptation between both. For this, the artistic residence is interpreted from the functional point of view and the conception of the spaces, as well as the context of the pre-existence is described and analysed, with the purpose of elaborating a proposal based on the theme of this work. Thus, this project seeks to reconcile the theme of housing and the spaces of artistic production, in a versatile environment, and of continuity between the various parts that compose it, creating a connection with the pre-existence and its constraints. In this connection a new function is attributed to the building, different from the previous ones, in the ambition to value the built heritage through a cultural program, in the Historical Center of Viana do Castelo.
