Abstract(s)
In this thesis we analyze the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazilian sports telejournalism. The interruption of sports competitions across the planet aroused interest in knowing the reflections in the specialized sports press in Brazil, particularly on television, due to the dependence on images, interviews and the participation of reporters from where training and competitions take place. The object of analysis was the TV program Redação SporTV, that integrates the programming of the SporTV television channel, for three main reasons: it was the first sports program on Brazilian television adapted to be broadcast from home during the pandemic caused by the new Coronavirus, including the temporary name Redação Home Office; it is originally a debate show (ie, it depends on guests), but it also features other types of journalistic content; and it is also a consolidated attraction, since 2004 in the SporTV program schedule, a channel that in 2019 had been the audience leader among all cable TV channels in Brazil. The results obtained evidenced the difficulties encountered in developing sports journalism on Brazilian television during the COVID-19 pandemic, from technical adaptations to other deeper aspects related to the contente – with sequential repetitions and for long periods of certain topics – as well as failures aesthetics and of execution.
