Abstract(s)
This research aims to know how the use of IT and cloud computing in companies contribute to change the competitive position of a company. After reviewing the literature, it was collected a sample of 96 respondents, obtained through the application online questionnaire. Firstly, the study of this sample aimed to identify the main constructs that characterize the use of IT and cloud computing. It was performed a factor analysis which was arrived at 7 factors: Factor 1 - IT influence; Factor 2 - IT strategic use; Factor 3 - technological resources; Factor 4 - human resources; Factor 5 - IT operational use; Factor 6 - cloud computing effects and Factor 7 - managerial capabilities. Knowing these factors, it was then decided to get to know the usage profiles. To this end, a cluster analysis and a discriminant analysis were used, where seven usage profiles were identified. Of these profiles, 4 present a high or wide use of these technologies so that they can be in competitive advantage or parity and 3 present a relatively low or restricted use of these technologies, so that they can be in a situation of competitive disadvantage. It is also concluded that although companies understand the benefits and advantages of using cloud computing, many companies do not invest in their internal resources and capabilities, not achieving competitive advantage.
