De uma sociedade de massa, com a Internet a assumir o papel de novo meio,
passou-se para uma sociedade em rede, na qual a comunicação se dá de todos para
todos. Nesse sentido, há paradigmas que se alteram e precisam de reformulação,
sobretudo na forma de comunicar, também pelas estruturas jornalísticas. A crítica de
cinema, enquanto género do jornalismo cultural, não ficou alheia a estas mudanças e os
seus responsáveis, os críticos, lidam, hodiernamente, com uma indústria
cinematográfica que se estende nas plataformas de streaming, nomeadamente com a
diversidade de conteúdo na forma de filmes e séries, com uma audiência participante,
consumidora e produtora de conteúdo, com websites que compilam aquilo que o crítico
profissional e cinéfilo amador consideram acerca de uma determinada obra e com o
prolongamento da crítica de cinema noutros meios de comunicação, para além do
jornal e da revista especializada. Na Era da informação, com a urgência em apresentar e
aceder a conteúdo relevante, conciso e atual, muitos são os desafios e constrangimentos
no exercício desta profissão que visa guiar as escolhas dos indivíduos. Com o intuito de
compreender, para além de outras inquietações, se a crítica de cinema elaborada por
jornalistas nos meios de comunicação portugueses influencia as opções do público na
hora de eleger um filme ou série, delineou-se uma metodologia de investigação que
alcança o público, através de um inquérito por questionário, e os críticos de cinema
portugueses, através de entrevistas.
From a mass society, with the Internet taking on the role of a new medium, we have a network society, in which communication takes place from everyone to everyone. In this sense, there are paradigms that change and need to be reformulated, especially in the way of communicating, also through journalistic structures. Film criticism, as a genre of cultural journalism, was not extraneous to these changes and those that are responsible for it, the critics, currently deal with a film industry that extends to streaming platforms, specifically with the diversity of content in the form of films and series, with a participating audience, consumer and content producer, with websites that compile what the professional critic and amateur moviegoer consider about a certain work, and with the extension of film criticism in other media, in addition to the newspaper and the specialized magazine. In the Information Age, with the urgency to present and access relevant, concise and current content, there are many challenges and constraints in the exercise of this profession that aims to guide the choices of individuals. To understand, in addition to other concerns, whether film criticism elaborated by journalists in the Portuguese media, influences the public's choices when choosing a film or series, an investigation methodology that reaches the public was outlined, through a questionnaire survey, and Portuguese film critics through interviews.
