Abstract(s)
estudo do bem-estar.
Self-Determination Theory has played a prominent role in the study of wellbeing. According to the theory, the basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence and relatedness are innate and need to be met for people to experience continued growth, integrity and well-being. The present study aims to analyze how the satisfaction of these three needs is associated with personal well-being in professionals in social and community intervention contexts. 189 social and community intervention professionals participated in this study, who have direct contact with populations with some vulnerability, who responded to the sociodemographic questionnaire, the Basic Psychological Needs Scale at Work (BPNWS) and the General Health Questionnaire (QSG-12). The results of the multiple linear regression analysis indicate that both the satisfaction of competence and relationship needs are significant predictors of the personal well-being of professionals who participated in the study, while autonomy did not prove to be a significant predictor. This study contributed to understanding the effect of satisfying basic needs on the wellbeing of social and community intervention professionals. However, it is important to highlight that there is a need to carry out more studies in this area, taking into account other variables that can influence and, at times, compromise the satisfaction of basic needs.
