Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação propõe um estudo de inspeção e análise para a reabilitação de um espaço indústrial tendo como finalidade a instalação de uma residência estudantil a localizar-se na Covilhã (UBI), que visa expandir e corrigir ausências de recursos que a UBI apresenta neste momento. Deste modo pretende-se estudar a eventual reabilitação de uma fábrica com valor patrimonial de modo a manter a herança da cidade. Existem vários edifícios devolutos nesta zona da cidade que podem ser reabilitados de forma a criar um entendimento entre os tempos antigos e modernos uma vez que os edifícios de contexto fabril são esqueleto pelo qual a cidade prosperou e se suportou.
Desta forma, e por este motivo, foram seguidos na presente dissertação os princípios da Carta de Nizhny Sobre o Património Indústrial (TICCIH, junho 2003). Este edifício que em tempos serviu a população da Covilhã com o nome de Fábrica Francisco Mendes Alçada - Ultimação Estrela, fábrica esta situada entre a ribeira do Goldra e Edifício II da Faculdade de Engenharia por isso pertinente edificado para a finalidade destinada neste projeto. Esta fábrica já passou por várias mutações e pretende-se agora propor mais uma para continuar a prosperar em conjunto com a UBI e a Covilhã. A proposta irá compreender na residência quartos desde a tipologia TO a T2 como também todo o equipamento e serviços necessários para um bom funcionamento da mesma conforme o programa definido após o estudo planeado na presente dissertação. Com esta proposta existe o objetivo de melhorar a instituição UBI e simultaneamente a Covilhã, sendo importante não esquecer o carácter de rematar toda a envolvente urbanística enriquecendo a qualidade de vida local.
The present dissertation proposes an inspection and analysis study for the rehabilitation of an indústrial space with the purpose of installing a student residence to be located in Covilhã (UBI), which aims to expand and correct absences of resources that UBI presents at this moment. In this way it is intended to study the possible rehabilitation of a factory with patrimonial value in order to maintain the inheritance of the city. There are several vacant buildings in this area of the city that can be rehabilitated in order to create an understanding between ancient and modern times since the buildings of factory context are the skeleton by which the city prospered and endured. In this way, and for this reason, the principles of the The International Committee for the Conservation of the Indústrial Heritage (TICCIH), were followed. This building that once served the population of Covilhã with the name of Fábrica Francisco Mendes Alçada - Ultimação Estrela, is located between the river of Goldra and Building II of the Faculty of Engineering, therefore a pertinent built for the purpose intended in this project. This factory has already undergone several changes and it is now proposed one more to continue to prosper together with UBI and Covilhã. The proposal will include in the residence rooms from the typology TO to T2 as well as all the equipment and services necessary for a proper functioning of the same according to the program defined after the study planned in the present dissertation. With this proposal there is the objective of improving the UBI institution and simultaneously Covilhã, being important not to forget the character of finishing the entire urban environment enriching the local quality of life.
