Abstract(s)
O início do Século XXI anunciou uma nova era para os dirigíveis e na qual estas aeronaves são consideradas plataformas complementares viáveis no actual sistema de transporte, com capacidade para criar novos nichos de mercado e incentivar novos sectores produtivos. Actualmente os dirigíveis têm a sua aplicação em sectores tão distintos como: o transporte de carga pesada ponto-a-ponto, publicidade, transporte, monitorização, pesquisa e patrulha aérea e ainda transporte turístico. Interligado a este regresso dos dirigíveis está a crescente preocupação entre a comunidade aeronáutica em adoptar “tecnologias limpas” economicamente sustentáveis com capacidade para implementar, nos modernos projectos dos dirigíveis, inúmeros sistemas tecnicamente avançados. Este estudo analisa os avanços técnicos aplicados aos dirigíveis, expõe a viabilidade destas aeronaves em determinados nicho de mercado e apresenta um estudo preliminar da viabilidade da sua utilização num sector particular do turístico português.
With the beginning of the XXI century airship has been seen as a complementary platform of the current transportation system panorama capable to create new market niches and new productive sectors. Nowadays airships are intended for several applications such as: heavy cargo transportation, point-to-point transportation, advertising, aerial observation, patrolling and monitoring, research, and tourism. The return of the airships is attached with a growing concern among the aeronautical community to adopt green technologies economically sustainable able to build up innumerous technological developments in airship projects. This work examines these technological improvements, shows the feasibility of airships in certain market niches, and brings out a primary study concerning the viability of using airships within the Portuguese tourism sector.
