Abstract(s)
indivíduo enfrenta no dia-a-dia.
semanais) e avaliação do burnout.
A análise
apenas a idade revelou diferenças estatisticamente significativas, ?2 (2) = 6,17, p = 0,046,
Introduction: Nowadays, there are more and more social and professional demands that the individual faces in daily life. Several studies correlate these sources of constant stress with the appearance of burnout. The syndrome is associated with professionals who deal daily with the human being to care and help. Nursing is part of this range of professions, being one of the most studied, to deepen the knowledge on the subject. The present study is presented with the objective of measuring burnout levels in nurses of Hospital Center Tondela - Viseu, correlating them with professional and sociodemographic factors. Materials and methods: For the development of the study, surveys were applied to nurses from all services of Hospital Center Tondela-Viseu and 147 (n =147) were collected. The questionnaire included socio-demographic data (age, gender, marital status, presence of children), professional data (years of work in nursing, years of work in the selected hospital center, number of weekly working hours) and burnout assessment. To ascertain the burnout level of the sample, the OLBI scale adapted for Portuguese was used, consisting of 16 questions. The data analysis was performed using the IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences), version 23. Results: When analyzing the burnout level of the sample, it was found that 29.9% (n = 44) presents a high level, with the majority experiencing moderate levels. In the analysis of the correlation between the socio-demographic data of the sample and the burnout level, only the age revealed statistically significant differences, ?2 (2) = 6.17, p = 0.046, with participants with a low burnout level presenting a higher age. Observing the correlation between professional data and burnout level, there were statistically significant differences between burnout levels in relation to the number of years of nursing exercise, ?2 (2) = 7.21, p = 0.027, and nurses with higher burnout levels had fewer years of professional exercise. Conclusion: This study concluded that Hospital Center Tondela-Viseu nurses are also affected by burnout, and that the results agree with the existing literature. The factors that most influence the level of burnout are the individual's age and years of professional experience, and the greater the number of years, both of age and professional experience, the lower the level of burnout that affects the nurse. It is essential to investigate this syndrome further to know it better and to increase the effectiveness of prevention and treatment measures, reducing its impact on professionals and health services.
